Grow more food.
Know exactly why it works.
Two days of practical knowledge for anyone who grows — or wants to grow — food at home. Seeds, soil, seasons, fermentation, and the people who live it.
You grow food. This was built for you.
Track B is for home growers at any level — whether you have a kitchen garden, an allotment, a balcony, or just the serious intention to start. You don’t need to be a farmer. You need to be curious.
Kitchen gardeners
You grow some vegetables and want to understand what you’re actually doing to the soil.
Permaculture enthusiasts
You’ve read the books. Now you want practitioners who’ve put it to work for 20+ years.
Fermenters & preservers
You want to close the loop — grow it, preserve it, understand the whole chain.
Food sovereignty seekers
You want to be less dependent on the supermarket and more connected to where food comes from.
Urban growers
You’re growing in a city and want to see what’s possible — including Trondheim’s best examples.
Health-conscious eaters
You’ve connected soil health to human health and want the science behind the intuition.
Practical knowledge across the full growing cycle
Every session in Track B is chosen for one reason: you can act on it. Concepts grounded in practice, from people who live this life.
Permaculture & growing principles
From theory to practice — design thinking for the home growing space that works with nature rather than against it.
Seeds & biological diversity
How to save seeds, build living diversity in your growing space, and why it matters beyond your own garden.
Foraging
A guided field walk with Trondheim’s fungi and useful plants society — learning to read what’s already growing around you.
Fermentation & food preservation
Practical methods for building a resilient household — drying, fermenting, and storing what you grow.
One Health: soil → food → you
The evidence connecting soil health to human health — what you grow and how you grow it affects more than yield.
Community growing models
How CSAs, market gardens, and cooperative growing actually work — including live examples from Trondheim.
People who live what they teach
Every speaker in Track B is a practitioner — not just a researcher or author, but someone doing this in real life.
Leads sessions on growing, permaculture principles, and seed saving & biodiversity — deep practical experience applying design thinking to real growing spaces.
Delivers the Day 2 keynote on the past, present and future of food and growing — different perspectives and experiences on where we’re headed.
Leads sessions on sustainable growing practice and fermentation — practical methods for living closer to the land with less waste.
Joins the preservation and fermentation session — a practitioner in traditional and modern food culture and resilient households.
Leads the foraging field walk — guided identification of fungi and useful plants growing around you and how to use them.
Joins the sustainable home growing session — practical guidance on building a productive and regenerative home growing system.
A private tour of Stephen Barstow’s gardens
Stephen Barstow — author of Around the World in 80 Plants and one of the world’s leading authorities on edible plant diversity — is opening three of his personal gardens to Jord❤️Festival ticket holders the day before the festival.
This is a rare opportunity. Stephen has spent decades cultivating extraordinary edible plants in Norway, and few people get to walk through these spaces with him as guide. It costs nothing extra — it’s his gift to festival attendees.
Two days, session by session
Some sessions are Track B only. Others are shared with Track A (farmers) where the content applies to everyone. Sessions marked shared run jointly.
🍄 Foraging — Trondheim Fungi & Useful Plants Society
🌾 Community garden (andelslag) — Martina Böhme, Gartner Reppe Andelslag

Reppe Søndre — one of Europe’s 50 best regenerative farms
The festival is hosted at Reppe Søndre, just outside Trondheim — a working regenerative farm that is itself one of the best examples of what Track B is about. You’re not watching slides about good food growing. You’re standing in it.
The farm provides the backdrop for field walks, hands-on sessions, and a real understanding of how regenerative practice looks at scale.
