Tor Helge Brandsæter

Tor Helge is a fourth-generation farmer at Fossnes Farm in Hvittingfoss. He holds an engineering degree from NMBU and took over the family farm in 2009. After spending several years working in Thailand, he was inspired to adopt regenerative practices, and has run the farm according to these principles since 2017. Today, he manages 123 acres of cultivated land organically and without ploughing.

His main production is heritage grains such as svedjerug (slash-and-burn rye), emmer and spelt, which he supplies to Sigdal Mølle. To accelerate biological processes, improve soil structure and build soil microbial life, he has also integrated cows (Angus and Østlandsk Rødkolle) into the farming system.

Topics Tor Helge will talk about at Jord❤️Festival:

Regenerative agriculture, no-plough farming, growing heritage grains, integrating grazing animals into grain production, and soil health.
