Bent Ingar Fuglu
Bent Ingar Fuglu and Aud Mari Folden run Røstad Øvre in Levanger municipality - a farm they took over in 2005. With over 20 years as vegetable producers, they grow carrots, swede (rutabaga), and broccolini on a total of 310 daa, both organically and conventionally. The farm also has grain, grass, and Highland cattle.
Bent Ingar and Aud Mari are highly forward-thinking and focused on developing their professional knowledge in biology and agronomy - knowledge they draw from both Norway and abroad. Bent Ingar is an inspiration farmer through the project Landbrukets Økoløft, and is passionate about soil quality, soil life, and soil health. To achieve a good crop rotation, they collaborate with colleagues who also farm organically. The farm actively makes use of new technology: for weed control in the organic carrots, they use thermal treatment with propane and a self-developed cart for hand-weeding. They also run a farm shop with their own products and locally sourced goods.
In March 2026, Bent Ingar and Aud Mari received the award Årets Økobonde 2025 (Organic Farmer of the Year 2025), presented by the County Governor of Trøndelag at the Agricultural Conference 2026 in Stjørdal.
“You’re never done learning as a farmer.”
