Andy Ross

Andy worked with sustainability and environmental charities in Scotland for 17 years before moving to Norway in 2016. He previously had a career in the UK's national health service, where he worked with adult mental health.

As one of the five UK finalists for 'Social Entrepreneur of the Year' 2014, he believes climate challenges are among the greatest of our time and wants to address them at a local level. He likes to work where people and the planet meet - preferably outdoors and getting a little muddy in the process.

Since 2020, he and Celina Pita have run the market garden Dype Røtter, where they grow organic vegetables according to regenerative agriculture principles. The products are used in their café and sold directly to local customers. A key goal of the work is to demonstrate how food and agriculture can contribute to regenerating people, the environment, and local communities.

Dype Røtter is a non-profit organisation that was awarded Trondheim Municipality's Diversity Prize for 2024.
